Hieronymous or Jerome Wierix

Wierix was a Flemish engraver and draughtsman who was often employed by Christopher Plantin, the publisher of Abraham Ortelius’s seminal atlas. He also engraved the highly detailed and accomplished allegorical images a knight combatting sin, which were later included in Hondius' famous "Christian Knight Map".
