Antonio Salamanca

Back to people overview

A Spanish bookseller active in Rome during the first half of the 16th Century. Salamanca collaborated with some of the most important literary and cartographical names of the day, including Antonio Lafreri. Although he was primarily a publisher and seller, Salamanca also produced his own wonderful maps, including a finely engraved double cordiform projection.

A slightly faded black and white portrait of Antonio Salamanca, a clean shaven man, who's looking to the left and wearing a hat.
