Chart

Charts are generally working document that are periodically updated by hydrographers, cartographers and mariners with new information. It is also a generic term for certain kinds of map, such as a portolan chart, celestial chart, or a sea chart.

A sea or nautical chart is a diagrammatic representation of a body of water, typically including the coastline. Nautical charts usually indicate the depth of the water, potential hazards, and the topography of the coast. They are used by pilots and maritime navigators to plan voyages.
